Job summary

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start to finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with the customers we serve. Designers meet with customers, listen to their project needs, educating them on all that is required and building a creative design concept reflecting their personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

They design and sell complete solutions, manage multiple projects from inquiry to installation, and collaborate with store leadership

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year interior design or retail/sales experience.
• Design degree is a plus.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic math.
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office.
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and support design walk-in needs.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele.
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice to homeowners and designers.
• Design and sell complete, functional design solutions.
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up.
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation.
• Support company initiatives by modeling best practices.
• Engage in current and emerging design trends.
• Understand and utilize design applications (Salesforce, Online Design Scheduler, MyProject).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
