Job summary

Bombardier is seeking an Interior Craftsperson, Wood Finisher for the Day shift at the Windsor Locks facility. The role focuses on fabricating, installing, and refurbishing aircraft interior wood components per work orders and specifications.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of interiors experience on corporate aircraft, can read engineering drawings, and perform veneer finishing with attention to detail. Occasional travel may be required, and safety compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of interiors experience on corporate aircraft.
• Ability to break down cabinets, remove hardware, inlay work.
• Experience with sanding and prepping veneers for finish.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings.
• Basic PC skills for documentation and records.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, install and refurbish aircraft interior equipment and furnishings focusing on wood finishing per work order.
• Perform work per manuals and regulations; document all tasks.
• Adhere to general work requirements and safety policies; participate in 5-S activities.
• Travel on international assignments if required; assist with off-site maintenance as needed.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Fabricate, install and refurbish aircraft interior equipment and furnishings, with a focus on wood finishing,per work order or customer request
• Perform and document all work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required
• Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements (Factory, Shop and / or Hanger positions
• Comply with environmental health / safety policies / procedures
• Participate in 5-S activities
• Assist with additional work on drop-ins and planned maintenance within the facility during slow periods of unplanned work as needed
• Clean aircraft as required
• Travel on international assignments if required
• Assist with maintenance at off-site locations as needed
• Assist with other maintenance disciplines as needed

How to thrive in this role?

• You typically have 3-5 years of interiors experience on corporate aircraft
• You demonstrate the ability to break down cabinets remove hardware, inlay etc.
• You demonstrate the ability to strip finish utilizing heat and scraper
• You have experience with sanding and prepping raw veneer and hardwood for finish, including touching up defects in veneer
• You can mix match and apply stains and paints on new veneers
• You have knowledge on spraying polyester base coats and urethane top coats
• You have experience with Aircraft touch up
• You demonstrate the ability to mask and unmask components for finish process
• You demonstrate mechanical aptitude
• You demonstrate the ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings
• You demonstrate the ability to communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status
• You have Basic PC skills
