GA Group in Dallas/Houston seeks experienced finance leaders for its CFO Advisory Practice. Roles are interim, project-based, and advisory, serving middle-market and PE-backed companies.

Engagements may place you as Vice President of Finance or Controller, stabilizing finance during transitions and leading reporting upgrades. Candidates should bring public accounting and in-house finance leadership, comfort with high-accountability environments, and ability to partner with PE sponsors, lenders,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• CPA strongly preferred; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• Progressive accounting and finance experience at Controller/VP level.
• Public accounting experience is required, including audit or advisory.
• Experience in private equity-backed environments is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as interim VP of Finance, Controller, or senior finance leader for client engagements.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with accurate reporting.
• Develop timely reporting packages for executives, boards, and lenders.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and modeling activities.
• Assess finance functions and implement improvements across processes and systems.
• Strengthen internal controls and governance practices.
• Coordinate external audits and respond to audit requests.
• Advise on GAAP, technical accounting, and policy implementations.
