Job summary

The University of Chicago seeks a Temporary SBDC Director to oversee the daily operations of the Small Business Development Center at Polsky Exchange. You will provide business advising, training, and services to entrepreneurs while managing a team of advisors and ensuring grant compliance.

Qualifications

• Education: B.A., B.S. or advanced degree in business, economics, or another relevant field.
• Experience: Minimum five (5) years of experience in program management, community engagement, external relations, and grant administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise and train small business clients, assisting with growth strategies, financial reviews, and business plans.
• Hire and manage a team of SBDC advisors and coordinate program activities.
• Monitor program metrics, reporting, and compliance with state and federal requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community groups, agencies, and other SBDCs to align resources and programming.
