Job summary

GQ Interim is looking for an Interim Quality Manager in Germany to lead and improve the Quality Management Department. You will supervise quality tasks, conduct audits, and manage quality-related communications with customers. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a proven track record in quality management.

This role requires fluency in German and English (C1 level). The contract is freelance, with a salary starting at 750€/day. Immediate start is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in leading Quality Management Departments.
• Strong knowledge of QMS standards, especially IATF 16949.
• Fluent in German (C1) and English (C1).

Job description

• Lead the Quality Management Department, including the assignment, monitoring, and completion of all quality-related tasks.
• Restructure and continuously improve the department to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide disciplinary and professional leadership to subordinates, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Plan and conduct process and system audits in accordance with internal and customer requirements.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of FMEA analysis within company processes.
• Ensure proper operation and calibration of all metrology equipment and systems.
• Maintain and continuously update the Quality Management System (QMS) to meet customer and certification standards (e.g. IATF 16949).
• Manage and resolve external and internal complaints, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
• Analyze and resolve daily quality issues and error reports from production.
• Act as a key contact for customers in quality-related topics, ensuring transparent communication and proactive problem-solving.
• Supervise the blocking, segregation, and disposal of non-conforming materials or products.
• Lead the de-escalation process with customers and support preventive measures to avoid recurrences.
• Achieve cost savings by reducing unnecessary controls and eliminating redundant quality walls (Q-walls).
• Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Logistics, and Maintenance departments to achieve the required product quality and customer satisfaction.
