Cardinal Health is seeking an Interim Director of Pharmacy to lead inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services on an interim basis across contracted sites nationwide. The role requires traveling up to 90% and overseeing compliance, staffing, and project implementations.

With a background in hospital pharmacy leadership and pharmacy operations, you will direct functions, manage licenses, and collaborate with clients and Account Managers to ensure high standards and patient care across facilities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to travel 90%.
• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or PharmD required.
• Licensed pharmacist in good standing.
• California pharmacist license preferred.
• Additional state pharmacist licenses preferred.
• In-patient hospital pharmacy experience required.
• Retail and specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
• Prior director/manager/supervisor experience.
• Experienced in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations.
• Proven project management experience.
• Excellent planning, forecasting, and negotiation skills.
• Vendor credentialing may be required.

Responsibilities

• The Interim Director of Pharmacy will provide leadership on an interim/transitional basis in Cardinal Health contracted inpatient and outpatient pharmacies. Duration of assignment will vary.
• Serves as Interim Director of Pharmacy. Plan, organize and direct all functions of the pharmacy services. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accrediting requirements.
• Maintain a professional presence on site. Ensure pharmacy services meet goals and standards of Cardinal Health and client.
• Ensure acquisition or renewal of all pharmacy staff licenses.
• Perform as Staff Pharmacist as needed.
• Participate in committee meetings to enhance practice and patient care.
• Attend new client kick-off meetings and oversee opening processes; collaborate with Account Managers.
• Provide weekly status reports and ensure staff education is completed.
• Execute other duties as assigned.
