Job summary

Christ Our King Presbyterian Church in Bel Air, MD seeks an Interim Pastor to provide spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and administrative oversight during a pastoral transition. The role entails guiding the Session and congregation through developmental tasks as they prepare to welcome the next installed pastor.

Qualifications

• Must provide regular preaching and worship leadership in Sunday services and special services.
• Provide ongoing pastoral care to members and friends, including hospital/home visits and crisis care.
• Lead and supervise church staff, and work with committees to implement programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide regular preaching and worship leadership on Sunday mornings and special services.
• Officiate weddings, funerals, and administer sacraments.
• Offer ongoing pastoral care to members and friends including hospital/home visits.
• Visit prospective members and provide crisis care to outsiders as feasible.
• Serve as Head of Staff, supervising church employees.
• Plan for and moderate session and congregational meetings.
• Provide organizational oversight for church operations with the session.
• Work with session committees in program planning.
