Job summary

Achievement Centers for Children in Strongsville, OH is seeking a dedicated custodian to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of our facilities, office spaces, and exterior areas.

Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restroom stocking, minor repairs, securing the building after hours, and reporting safety hazards. A high school diploma or GED and at least two years of commercial cleaning experience are required, with strong interpersonal skills and dependability.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of facilities and equipment, including bathrooms and entrances.
• Vacuum all carpeted areas, sweep and mop all tiled surfaces.
• Dust or wipe ledges, windowsills, furniture, counters and partitions.
• Clean doors, frames and light switches.
• Wipe mirrors and windows.
• Empty and clean trash receptacles and collect recycling.
• Clean, sanitize, and supply bathrooms with necessary provisions.
• Clean and service custodial equipment as needed.
• Perform maintenance and minor repairs (replacing broken switches, fixing door handles, minor leaks, change lightbulbs).
• Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows and setting up the alarm.
• Ensure outside grounds areas are clean and orderly.
• Report any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards.
• Follow proper custodial procedures for tools and chemicals.
• Abide by OSHA rules and regulations.
• Work safely and contribute to a healthful environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Custodial Supervisor and the Manager of Facilities, Maintenance & Services.

• Performs other duties as assigned by Custodial Supervisor and the Manager of Facilities, Maintenance & Services.

Requirements

• Highschool diploma/G.E.D.
• Commercial cleaning work experience may be considered in lieu of diploma or G.E.D
• At least two years of commercial cleaning work experience
• Good interpersonal skills and communication skills
• Dependable and flexible
• Must be able to travel to other locations if needed
• Abilityto work independently or on a team
• Interacts with children, families, and staff
