Job summary

The Philadelphia School seeks a full-time Music Teacher on a ten-week leave replacement basis. The teacher will instruct students from 1st through 8th grade, support school-wide music assemblies, and possibly lead a 3–5th grade String Ensemble.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years lead music teaching experience strongly preferred.
• Flexible, collaborative educator with a deep interest in progressive education.
• Solid understanding of child development across social, emotional, and intellectual domains.
• Ability to create a warm, nurturing, and supportive classroom for middle school children.
• Strong writing, editing, and communication skills for team, student, and family levels.

Responsibilities

• Adapt and implement developmentally appropriate music lessons for 1st–8th grade students.
• Support whole school music assemblies.
• Lead a 3–5th grade String Ensemble.
• Participate in faculty meetings, grade-level teams, and curriculum planning.
• Participate in school-wide initiatives and other duties as assigned.
