Qualifications

• Instructs assigned classes at designated locations and times.
• Plans a program of study to meet student needs and abilities.
• Maintains a classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Prepares for class and shows written evidence of preparation on request.
• Encourages students to meet classroom behavior standards.
• Sets clear objectives aligned with curriculum goals for each lesson/unit.
• Uses varied instructional techniques and media appropriate to students' needs.
• Strives to implement the district's educational goals and objectives.
• Assesses student progress regularly and provides required progress reports.
• Diagnoses learning disabilities and seeks district specialist assistance as needed.
• Takes precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and policy.
• Assists administration in implementing all student-life policies and classroom rules.
• Provides availability to students/parents outside instructional hours when requested.
• Plans/supervises assignments for aides/volunteers and evaluates their performance.
• Maintains professional competence through ongoing development.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in committees as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Maintains ongoing professional competence.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on committees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
