Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking an Interim First Grade Teacher (Elementary, K-5) to provide standards-aligned instruction in a Tennessee school. The role requires a Bachelor's degree and an active Tennessee educator license with endorsement and involves implementing RTI2, literacy initiatives, and collaborative planning with school teams.

You will manage assessments, progress monitoring, and communication with families while maintaining a safe, inclusive classroom and meeting all district requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and valid Tennessee educator license with endorsement.
• Knowledge of Tennessee Academic Standards, developmentally appropriate elementary instructional practices, high-quality instructional materials, assessment, differentiation, and data-informed instruction.
• Knowledge of Tennessee foundational literacy requirements, RTI2, universal screening and progress-monitoring practices, and evidence-based support for students with diverse learning needs.
• Ability to implement IEPs, Section 504 plans, English learner supports, accommodations, modifications, and other student-specific plans.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, organizational, technology, and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with students, families, colleagues, support personnel, and administrators.
• Meets physical and other requirements necessary to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Plans and delivers standards-aligned, developmentally appropriate instruction in assigned elementary subject areas using district-approved curriculum and high-quality instructional materials.
• Prepares lessons reflecting grade-level standards, student needs, prior learning, and appropriate instructional pacing.
• Implements district Foundational Literacy Skills Plan and provides foundational literacy instruction as applicable.
• For grades K-3, administers universal reading screeners during required windows and uses data to inform instruction and family communication.
• Differentiates instruction and provides interventions, accommodations, and supports to address varied readiness levels and learning needs.
• Collaborates with grade-level teams, interventionists, special education staff, English learner staff, counselors, administrators, and other personnel to support achievement and well-being.
