Job summary

Yale University’s Center for British Art seeks an Interim Head of Information Technology to lead technology operations, set IT policies, and manage a team supporting all departments. Reporting to Operations, with ITS support, the role oversees software, hardware, cloud services, and security, coordinating across Yale and external partners to enable research and access to British Art resources.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in a technical field and at least six years of related experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field and six years of related technical experience or equivalent
• Demonstrated expertise providing technical IT services in a museum, research and/or academic environment
• Ability to embrace innovation and proactively implement new technology systems
• Hands-on experience with software development and understanding of cultural heritage data
• Strong communication, leadership, and collaborative skills with ability to work across institutions

Responsibilities

• Oversee technology operations for the Center and establish IT goals and plans
• Lead IT team including software engineers and service providers
• Plan, advise, develop, and monitor IT projects across the Center and Yale University
• Manage IT budget and vendor relationships; supervise hardware and software acquisitions
• Liaise with staff and university organizations; maintain Yale technology infrastructure
• Deliver IT training and ensure security, backups, and uptime
