Job summary

BDO USA, LLP seeks a senior accounting professional to lead client engagements as Controller, CFO, or project leader. You will manage multiple stakeholders, oversee month/quarter/year-end closes, and support SEC reporting while implementing new accounting pronouncements and driving process improvements.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of accounting experience across public/private/private equity, and CPA is preferred.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's preferred
• Ten years accounting experience required
• Experience with public, private or private equity companies required
• CPA preferred (certification)

• Serve as Controller/CFO/Project Leader for clients
• Manage multiple client stakeholders

• Implement ASC606 and ASC842
• Create and document processes; drive improvements

Job description

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for supporting clients with various tasks within the accounting and finance functions. This role is project based and will work with a variety of clients.

Job Duties:

• Functions in various capacities including Controller, CFO, or Project Leader for clients
• Demonstrates an ability to manage multiple client stakeholders simultaneously
• Prepares miscellaneous accounting reports
• Participates and leads various ad hoc projects
• Oversees all aspects of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing
• Demonstrates an ability to perform due diligence procedures for clients
• Assists clients with SEC Reporting
• Resolves complex accounting issues, and assist clients with implementation of new accounting pronouncements including ASC606 and ASC842
• Ensures work is accurate and follows the correct technical approach
• Creates and documents processes as well as suggests and implements process improvements
• Recognizes and offers additional appropriate BDO services to clients
• Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree, required; focus in Accounting, preferred
• Master's degree, preferred

Experience:

• Ten (10) or more years accounting related experience, required
• Experience working with public, private or private equity companies, required

  License(s)/Certification(s):

  • CPA, preferred

  Software:

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook, required

  Salary Ranges:

  Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

  • California Range: $85.00/hr - $95.00/hr
  • Colorado Range: $85.00/hr - $95.00/hr
  • Illinois Range: $85.00/hr - $95.00/hr
  • Maryland Range: $85.00/hr - $95.00/hr
  • Minnesota Range: $85.00/hr - $95.00/hr
  • NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $85.00/hr - $95.00/hr
  • Washington Range: $85.00/hr - $95.00/hr
