West Milford High School is seeking an Interim Assistant Principal to lead and support a safe, inclusive, and academically rigorous environment. The role emphasizes developing and enforcing behavioral expectations, restorative practices, and tiered interventions aligned with district goals.

Collaboration with teachers, counselors, and families is essential to ensure consistent support systems and data-driven progress monitoring.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in educational leadership, administration, or a related field.
• Valid NJ Principal Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility for Principal.
• Successful experience in a school administrative or leadership role, preferably at the secondary level.
• Strong understanding of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices.
• Ability to lead initiatives for academic achievement, student behavior, and mental health.
• Knowledge of restorative practices, MTSS, and effective classroom management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to build relationships with students, staff, families, and community.
• Experience with data analysis to drive school improvement and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Foster a positive school culture and implement behavioral expectations with restorative practices.
• Lead data-driven monitoring of progress and inform decision-making.
• Provide PD and coaching to staff on classroom management and trauma-informed practices.
