Job summary

Christian Brothers University in Memphis seeks an Interim Men's & Women's Head Track and Field Coach to lead recruiting, roster building, and day-to-day program operations. The role includes evaluating prospects, coordinating travel, and ensuring compliance with NCAA Division II and Gulf South Conference rules.

The ideal candidate has coaching or competitive experience at college, club, or high school level, holds a bachelor's degree, and can obtain NCAA recruiting certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline from an accredited institution.
• Coaching or competitive experience in track & field at the collegiate, club, or high school level.
• Working knowledge of technique and training principles in at least one event group.
• Ability to pass NCAA Division II coaches recruiting certification.
• Current CPR, AED and first aid certification, or ability to obtain it upon hire.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet university requirements for driving team vehicles.
• Successful completion of a background check.
• Availability for early morning or afternoon practices, weekend meets and overnight travel.
• Commitment to the mission and values of a Lasallian Catholic university.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes who fit academically, athletically, and in character.
• Communicate with prospects, families, and high school/club coaches by phone, email, and campus visits.
• Attend high school and club meets to evaluate prospects.
• Meet roster and retention targets set by head coach and Director of Athletics.
• Assist with meet entries, travel logistics, equipment inventory, and facility setup.
• Host home meets and department events; support fundraising and alumni outreach.
• Attend staff meetings and perform other duties assigned by the head coach or Director of Athletics.
