Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking an Interim Facility Maintenance Worker II in Marion County to perform grounds maintenance, operate tractors and mowers, and carry out maintenance and repair tasks within state forests and facilities. The position requires physical stamina and the ability to follow safety procedures.

Telecommuting may be authorized by the agency. This is an interim, non-merit role with a 37.5 hour work week and potential for overtime under the Kentucky pay rules.

Qualifications

• One year of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services, or mechanical maintenance experience.
• Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE
• Must be 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• locating and painting boundary lines on State Forests
• running and maintaining mechanical equipment such as tractors, mowers, and weedeaters for grounds maintenance
• help with structure maintenance and repairs as needed
• maintenance and trash pickup on trails, parking lots, and road ways
