Job summary

FutureCare in Baltimore seeks an Interim Food Service Director to oversee the operation of our food service program in healthcare facilities. You will manage production, ensure quality, safety, and budget adherence, and lead a team of food service workers to deliver outstanding resident satisfaction.

The role requires a culinary arts background, Maryland sanitation certification, and CDM certification or enrollment within 18 months.

Qualifications

• Formal training (college degree preferred) in Culinary Arts or related fields.
• Must be certified as a Dietary Manager (CDM) or enrolled in certification with within 18 months of hire.
• Must be certified by the Maryland State approved sanitation program.
• At least two years of food service management experience in health care.
• Previous supervisory skills and proven ability to lead and manage individuals.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure food service operates within established budgetary guidelines.
• Direct and supervise food service workers.
• Assist in hiring, transfer, promotion, or dismissal of food service workers.
• Follow proper receiving, storage, and preparation techniques to maintain high quality of food.
• Plan, implement, and review breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.
• Prepare local and state reports as directed or required.
• Understand and implement safety procedures per Health department.
• Direct expenditure of the food service budget.
