Qualifications

• Prior experience in a CFO, Controller, Finance Director, or senior-level accounting consulting role.
• Strong full-cycle accounting and year-end close experience required.
• Non-profit accounting experience required.
• Experience managing or supporting annual financial statement audits.
• State reporting and regulatory compliance experience preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact with executive leadership and Boards of Directors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate the organization's year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Manage and support full-cycle accounting functions, including general ledger oversight, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and month-end close activities.
• Partner with external auditors and assist with audit preparation, schedules, documentation, and audit-related requests.
• Prepare and present financial reports, audit results, and key financial updates to Executive Leadership and the Board of Directors.
• Assist with state reporting requirements and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
• Provide hands-on financial leadership and support to maintain operational continuity during the engagement.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and financial reporting practices.

Education

A well-established non-profit organization in the Groton, CT area is seeking an experienced Interim Finance Consultant at either the CFO or Controller level to provide hands-on leadership and accounting support during a critical financial reporting period.
