Job summary

The American Mural Project in Winsted, CT, is seeking an Interim Education Director to lead AMP's education programs during a transitional period. You will collaborating with the Education Programs Manager, staff, teaching artists and curriculum consultants to strengthen current programs and advance curriculum development.

The role is on-site in Winsted, 30 hours per week, with an anticipated duration of about two months or longer.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
Minimum five years of relevant experience in education or youth programming.
Experience creating standards-aligned curricula.
Experience with career pathways, workforce development or trades-based learning is a plus.
Nonprofit or cultural-organization experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead planning, delivery and evaluation of mission-aligned education programs for schools, youth, educators and community audiences.
Develop standards-aligned curricula with clear learning objectives, materials and measures of success.
Advance career exploration programming, including teacher professional development, field trips and initiatives serving vocational schools, manufacturing and trades-based partners.
Oversee program schedules, staffing, supplies, communications, records and day-of logistics.
Monitor program budgets, timelines and risks and provide timely updates to the Executive Director.
