AMN Healthcare Leadership Solutions | B.E. Smith in Springfield, Missouri seeks an Interim Director of Emergency Department to lead day-to-day operations of a high-volume, high-acuity department with 68 beds.

The role will oversee seven direct reports and about 130 FTEs, drive staffing stability, foster a positive, accountable culture, and use performance metrics to identify improvements while mentoring clinical supervisors.

Qualifications

• BSN required; master's degree preferred.
• Active RN license required.
• Significant Emergency Department nursing leadership experience with high-acuity, trauma, pediatric, change management, staffing stabilization, performance improvement, and leadership development experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of a high-volume, high-acuity Emergency Department with 68 beds.
• Oversee seven direct reports and approximately 130 FTEs.
• Drive meaningful change, staffing stability, and a positive, accountable culture using performance metrics.
• Mentor clinical supervisors to strengthen the leadership team.
• Be hands-on, collaborative, adaptable, and able to communicate with staff and physicians in a fast-paced environment.
