Descrizione del lavoro

Our client, a high-profile long-term care organization in Maryland, is seeking an experienced Interim RN Clinical Leader to provide visible, hands-on leadership during a period of transition. The leader will engage and stabilize a diverse team of clinical professionals and nurse leaders, strengthen alignment and accountability, and help maintain a consistent focus on quality, service, and resident care.

A central priority of the mandate will be to lead a critical self-reporting program review. The successful consultant will bring structure, sound clinical judgement, and an objective perspective to the review, while working collaboratively with leaders, employees, and relevant stakeholders to identify issues, support corrective action, and reinforce confidence across the organization.

Mandate Overview:

The selected consultant will provide transitional clinical leadership across the organization, with a strong emphasis on team engagement, change leadership, quality, and service. The mandate requires a leader who can quickly build trust, listen carefully, establish clear priorities, and create the conditions for clinical teams to remain focused and effective during a sensitive period of organizational change.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide visible, hands-on leadership to a diverse team of clinical professionals, nurse leaders, and frontline employees during a period of transition.
  • Build trust and engagement across the team through consistent communication, active listening, accessibility, and a calm, collaborative leadership presence.
  • Lead the critical self-reporting program review, coordinating the work, clarifying accountabilities, identifying risks and gaps, and supporting timely follow-through on required actions.
  • Maintain a strong focus on clinical quality, resident safety and the experience of residents, families, and employees.
  • Support nurse leaders and clinical managers in setting priorities, making sound operational decisions, and maintaining stability across day-to-day services.
  • Review current clinical practices, policies, processes, documentation, and reporting mechanisms to identify opportunities for improvement and stronger consistency.
  • Translate review findings into practical corrective actions, clear implementation plans, and sustainable improvements in clinical practice and service delivery.
  • Lead teams through change with transparency and empathy, while maintaining clear expectations, accountability, and momentum.
  • Work effectively within a unionized and non-unionized environment, building constructive relationships and addressing workforce matters in accordance with collective agreements and organizational policies.
  • Partner with senior leadership, clinical leaders, interdisciplinary teams, and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated decision-making and effective communication.
  • Monitor key clinical, quality, service, and workforce indicators to identify emerging concerns, evaluate progress, and support informed action.
  • Coach and support leaders and team members, strengthening leadership capability, collaboration, and confidence during the transition.
  • Provide senior leadership with clear, objective updates on risks, progress, required decisions, and recommended next steps.
  • Help position the organization for a stable transition by documenting priorities, actions, accountabilities, and outstanding work for the incoming permanent leader.
Candidate Profile:
  • Experienced Registered Nurse and senior clinical leader with a strong record of leading nursing and interdisciplinary clinical teams in a complex, regulated healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated experience guiding teams and organizations through transition, change, review, or remediation initiatives.
  • Proven ability to engage, stabilize, and align diverse groups of clinical professionals and nurse leaders.
  • Direct experience working in unionized environments, with sound knowledge of labor relations, collective agreement considerations, and constructive employee relations practices.
  • Strong background in clinical quality, and resident safety, risk management, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience leading sensitive reviews, investigations, self-reporting processes, or corrective action programs would be highly valued.
  • Visible, credible, and relationship-focused leadership style, balanced with the confidence to make decisions, address difficult issues, and reinforce accountability.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, coaching, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Able to move comfortably between strategic issues and hands-on operational leadership, ensuring that recommendations are translated into practical implementation.
  • Active RN licensure appropriate for practice in Maryland, with all required credentials and continuing education maintained.
  • Comfort working onsite in Maryland for the duration of the interim engagement.
