Job summary

Hanford Post Acute is seeking an experienced Interim Director of Nursing to provide strong clinical leadership during a transitional period. You will oversee daily nursing operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and support residents with compassionate, evidence-based care.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current and unrestricted California Registered Nurse license.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Previous Director of Nursing or senior nursing leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations, survey readiness, care planning.
• Experience with EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the daily operations of the Nursing Department.
• Ensure residents receive high-quality care per orders, plans, and policies.
• Provide leadership to nursing supervisors, licensed nurses, CNAs, and staff.
• Collaborate with Administrator and interdisciplinary team to support resident outcomes.
• Monitor nursing documentation, systems, staffing levels, and quality indicators.
• Ensure adequate nursing coverage and assist with staffing and scheduling.
• Recruit, interview, onboarding, and evaluate nursing staff.
• Conduct clinical rounds and address resident-care or staff concerns.
• Oversee infection prevention, quality assurance, and risk management.
• Maintain documentation accuracy and timeliness.
• Participate in resident care conferences and family communications.
• Prepare for regulatory surveys and implement plans of correction.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, local requirements.
• Promote accountability, teamwork, and resident-centered care.
• Protect resident privacy and health information.

Hanford Post Acute is seeking an experienced and dedicated Interim Director of Nursing to provide strong clinical leadership and support our nursing team during a transitional period.

Interim Director of Nursing (Finance)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the daily operations of the Nursing Department.
• Ensure residents receive high-quality care in accordance with physician orders, care plans, facility policies, and regulatory standards.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing supervisors, licensed nurses, CNAs, and other clinical staff.
• Collaborate with the Administrator and interdisciplinary team to support resident outcomes and facility goals.
• Monitor nursing documentation, clinical systems, staffing levels, and quality indicators.
• Ensure adequate nursing coverage and assist with staffing and scheduling needs.
• Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and evaluating nursing employees.
• Conduct clinical rounds and promptly address resident-care or employee-performance concerns.
• Oversee infection prevention, quality assurance, risk management, and performance-improvement initiatives.
• Monitor incidents, changes in condition, hospital transfers, wounds, falls, weights, and other areas of clinical risk.
• Ensure care plans, assessments, and required documentation are accurate and completed on time.
• Participate in resident care conferences and communicate professionally with residents and families.
• Prepare for and participate in regulatory surveys and inspections.
• Develop and implement plans of correction when necessary.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local requirements governing skilled nursing facilities.
• Promote a positive culture of accountability, teamwork, communication, and resident-centered care.
• Protect resident privacy and maintain the confidentiality of all health information.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current and unrestricted California Registered Nurse license required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• Previous Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, or senior nursing leadership experience required.
• Skilled nursing or long-term-care experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations, survey readiness, care planning, infection prevention, and quality assurance.
• Experience with PointClickCare or another electronic medical record system preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to quickly assess priorities, make sound decisions, and lead effectively in a fast-paced environment.
