Job summary

Ledgent Finance & Accounting’s client in Irvine, CA, seeks an experienced Interim Controller for a 3-6 month engagement. This hands-on leader will oversee all accounting operations and mentor a large team, ensuring GAAP compliance and robust reporting in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires a CPA (preferred) and 10+ years in accounting leadership, with deep ERP experience. On-site work 5 days/week, driving continuous improvements and cost visibility across operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
• Experience as Controller or Assistant Controller in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong large ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
• Demonstrated success leading teams with 8+ direct reports.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and change management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and cost accounting.
• Oversee and develop a team of 8+ direct reports, fostering accountability and operational excellence.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting.
• Support executive leadership with financial analysis and operational insights.
• Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
• Partner with operations, supply chain, and manufacturing leadership to improve financial visibility and performance.
• Manage audit support and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Assess accounting processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and scalability.
