Job summary

HRB in Middletown, RI seeks an experienced Interim Controller to lead financial operations for a growing government contractor. Qualifications

• CPA with public accounting/audit experience required.
• Manufacturing cost accounting and inventory management experience.
• Strong government contracting experience including indirect rates, submissions, and DCAA/compliance.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with controller-level responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate audits with external auditors and stakeholders.
• Oversee GL, AP, AR, payroll, cash, fixed assets, and month/year-end closes.
• Improve accounting systems, controls, processes, and reporting.
• Support government contracting accounting for manufacturing contracts.
• Ensure GAAP, FAR, DFARS, DCAA, and DCMA compliance.
• Manage indirect rates, incurred cost submissions, and provisional billing rates.
• Support inventory management, product costing, BOMs, and manufacturing cost allocations.
• Assist budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, analysis, and executive reporting.
