Job summary

RGP is seeking an Interim Controller in Youngstown, OH to partner with the Accounting Manager and report to the CFO. This hands-on role leads day-to-day accounting operations in a high-volume environment and drives accuracy, timely close, and strong controls.

You will oversee payroll, AP/AR, cash management, intercompany accounting, and month-end activities while identifying process improvements and standardizing practices to bring stability to the finance function.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and partner closely with the Accounting Manager.
• Manage payroll processes including accuracy, taxes, benefits, and overall payroll processes.
• Oversee AP/AR, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Manage cash flow, treasury, and bank account activities.
• Ensure payments are processed accurately and on time.
• Oversee intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Support month-end close and ongoing accounting activities.
• Identify gaps in processes, documentation, and controls and develop practical solutions.
• Identify opportunities to streamline, consolidate, and improve accounting processes.
• Serve as a trusted resource to senior finance leadership and help bring stability and structure to the accounting function.

Job description

We're seeking a strong, hands-on Interim Controller to join a growing organization and partner closely with the existing Accounting Manager. The Interim Controller will report to the Executive Director of Corporate Finance and CFO and oversee a broad range of accounting and finance operations.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced accounting leader who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, navigating ambiguity, solving problems, and bringing structure to a high-volume environment.

What you will work on

• The ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, and organizational nuances
• A hands-on approach and willingness to work shoulder-to-shoulder with the accounting team
• Experience improving processes, documenting procedures, and creating efficiencies
• The organization currently utilizes NetSuite, Paycor, and Tipalti. Experience with these systems is preferred but not required.
