Qualifications

• 12+ years of financial leadership experience, incl. multi-site or field-service PE portfolio depth.
• Proven track record integrating bolt-on acquisitions ranging from $5M–$50M.
• Strong ability to build trust with executives, managers, and PE sponsors.
• Comfortable leading through transitions and complex reporting.
• Willingness to travel for regional coverage in the Southeast.

We are seeking an operationally sharp, relationship-driven Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a rapidly growing, private equity-backed field services company. This transitional leader will stabilize the finance function, establish transparent internal reporting, and systematically integrate recent acquisitions.

The ideal candidate must excel at building immediate trust with decentralized branch managers, the executive team, and institutional PE sponsors.

Trust Building & Internal Reporting

• Establish financial transparency by delivering accurate, timely monthly reporting packages.
• Bridge the gap between corporate finance and branch operations through collaborative communication.
• De-mystify the numbers for non-financial regional managers to drive accountability and buy-in.
• Mentor and stabilize the existing corporate finance, accounting, and billing teams.

Acquisition Integration

• Lead the post-merger integration of recently acquired field service businesses.
• Standardize financial systems, charts of accounts, and billing processes across new entities.
• Capture modeled synergies in procurement, route optimization, and back-office overhead.
• Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) like technician utilization, density, and job profitability.

Private Equity & Liquidity Management

• Manage the relationship with PE sponsors, providing unvarnished performance data and strategic insights.
• Optimize working capital, focusing heavily on order-to-cash cycles and unbilled revenue reductions.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting to support ongoing bolt-on acquisition infrastructure.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Experience: 12+ years of financial leadership, including multi-site or field services PE portfolio depth.
• Domain Expertise: Proven track record integrating $5M–$50M bolt-on acquisitions.
• Geography: Based in the Southeast (e.g., Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville, Tampa) for efficient regional travel.
• Leadership Style: Approachable, low-ego, and highly visible; comfortable in both the boardroom and the field.
• Availability: Must be able to start immediately for a 3-6 month engagement.
