Job summary

Beacon Hill is seeking an experienced Interim Chief Financial Officer to join its executive leadership team, overseeing all finance and accounting functions and providing strategic financial leadership during a critical transition period.

The role requires hands-on budgeting, improved financial reporting, and strong partnership with the Board and senior leaders. A nonprofit background with grant funding experience is preferred, with CPA or advanced degree highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in nonprofit accounting and finance.
• At least 5 years in senior finance leadership.
• Experience building complex organizational budgets.
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting, grant funding, audits, compliance, financial reporting, and tax filings.
• Experience presenting financial data to Boards of Directors.
• Strong leadership and staff development skills.
• CPA and/or advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting, finance, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Lead and mentor the finance team to drive operational excellence.
• Develop annual operating budgets and monitor variances.
• Manage cash flow and funding across programs and contracts.
• Coordinate annual audits and report to executive leadership and Board.
• Oversee IRS Form 990 preparation and filing.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and regulatory filings.
• Partner with leadership on strategic planning and key business decisions.
• Present financial performance and forecasts to the Board of Directors.
