Job summary

Blue Signal is seeking an Interim Accounts Payable Manager for an on-site role in Hermitage, PA or Youngstown, OH. The temp assignment pays $38.00–$45.00 per hour and offers potential conversion to a full-time position after 3+ months.

You will lead daily AP operations in a high-volume, on-site finance function, supervise staff, ensure timely invoices and payments, and strengthen controls and vendor management while partnering with other leaders for month-end close and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Hands on SAP experience within an accounts payable environment is required.
• Previous leadership experience in accounts payable, including team oversight and workload coordination.
• Experience in a high-volume processing environment, ideally within manufacturing or another operationally complex setting.
• Background in vendor management, month end support, reporting, and payment operations.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem solving skills.
• Able to work on site full time and step confidently into a fast moving assignment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily accounts payable operations for a high volume, on site finance function, ensuring invoices, payments, and vendor activity are processed accurately and on schedule.
• Supervise and support accounts payable staff, helping prioritize workflow, resolve issues, and maintain consistency across the function.
• Review vendor setup updates, payment controls, and banking details to strengthen accuracy, compliance, and fraud prevention efforts.
• Oversee weekly payment activity, including check and electronic disbursements, while helping manage exceptions and improve visibility into cash activity.
• Partner with accounting and operational leaders on month end close support, reconciliations, reporting needs, and audit readiness.
• Use SAP and related systems to monitor transaction flow, improve efficiency, and maintain organized documentation.
• Help identify process improvements that can streamline work, reduce delays, and support a lean, collaborative team environment.

What We Are Looking For

• Current or recent title of Accounts Payable Manager strongly preferred
