Responsibilities

• Lead daily operational accounting activities: GL, cash, AR, accruals, prepaids, assets, inventory.
• Supervise accounting staff; review journals, reconciliations, workpapers for accuracy.
• Oversee month-end close, intercompany activity, multi-entity consolidations.
• Partner with Corporate Accounting for timely financial reporting.
• Strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support decisions.

Now Hiring: Interim Manager – Operational Accounting | Irving, TX (Hybrid)

Location: Irving, TX – Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 remote)

Compensation: Up to $70-80/hour W2

Duration: 5-month contract with potential extension

Our client, a large, well established organization is seeking an experienced Manager of Operational Accounting to provide hands-on leadership and oversight of day-to-day accounting operations during a significant finance transformation initiative. This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished accounting leader who thrives in complex, multi-entity environments and enjoys leading teams, improving processes, and ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily operational accounting activities, including general ledger, cash management, accounts receivable, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and inventory.
• Supervise and mentor accounting professionals, reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial workpapers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Oversee month-end close activities, intercompany transactions, and multi-entity financial consolidations.
• Partner with Corporate Accounting to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and operational efficiencies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and technology enhancements.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ideally 5+ years in a hands-on supervisory or management capacity.
• Strong operational accounting background with experience overseeing full-cycle accounting processes.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and the work of senior-level accounting professionals.
• Advanced Excel skills are essential, including the ability to independently navigate and analyze complex spreadsheets.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting, intercompany transactions, and financial consolidations.
• Proficiency with large ERP systems.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience developing and improving accounting policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) experience.
• Previous experience supporting accounting transformation initiatives or interim leadership assignments.
