Job summary

Center for Elders’ Independence in California seeks a Chaplain to provide spiritual/pastoral support within CEI’s interdisciplinary care teams. Under supervision, the Chaplain will support participants, families, and staff across the continuum of care, lead interfaith services, and help advance care planning.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in theology/divinity/pastoral ministry or related field.
• Completion of 4 CPE units is required.
• Board certification as Chaplain is preferred.
• Two years of health care, palliative care, hospice, or hospital chaplaincy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual/pastoral support to participants and families.
• Lead interfaith worship, prayer services, memorials, and group activities.
• Document counseling provided in the participant's medical record.
• Collaborate with team to develop advance care planning and end-of-life decisions.
• Educate interdisciplinary teams on spiritual needs of older adults.
• Coordinate with community religious representatives for continuity of spiritual care.
