INTERDISCIPLINARY (MECHANICAL/ AEROSPACE) ENGINEER

Position Details

This role offers a base pay range of $124,531.00/yr - $161,889.00/yr. Your actual salary will depend on your skills and experience. Talk with your recruiter for more details.

Key Duties
  1. Assess operations to recommend strategic goals, objectives, or missions.
  2. Persuade others to accept system recommendations.
  3. Collaborate with managers and decision-makers to resolve discrepancies impacting project operations.
  4. Resolve issues related to budget or time constraints affecting testing processes.
  5. Develop plans to enhance team capabilities and identify training needs.
  6. Analyze project proposals to recommend changes aligning with program objectives.
  7. Ask questions to clarify received information.
Minimum Requirements

Conditions of Employment

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be suitable for federal employment.
  • Participation in the direct deposit pay program is required.
  • Successful passing of the E-Verify employment verification check is required for new employees.
  • Current federal employees must meet the time-in-grade requirement.
  • Retired military members' employment is subject to specific provisions.
  • Male applicants born after 12-31-59 must register for Selective Service.
  • Must obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Must be certified in the Department of Defense Acquisition Workforce (DAWIA) at the specified level within 24 months.
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment during work shifts.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including remote sites.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct as per government standards.

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or above the GS-13 level, including leadership in projects and teams, understanding of aviation systems, and effective communication of technical matters.

Additional qualifications include meeting education standards such as a professional engineering degree accredited by ABET, or equivalent experience and licensure as a PE, EI, or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
