Job summary

Naval Education and Training Command in Florida seeks an Interdisciplinary General Engineer/Civil Engineer/Mechanical Engineer to support the N44 Readiness and Logistics Directorate, Infrastructure Branch, CTR for Aviation Tech NL TRNG.

The position requires PE licensure and demonstrates experience with large-scale projects, detailed cost estimates, and contract packages, plus policy development and cross-disciplinary process improvements to enhance efficiency and readiness.

Job description

You will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY GENERAL ENGINEER/CIVIL ENGINEER/MECHANICAL ENGINEER in the N44 READINESS AND LOGISTICS DIRECTORATE, INFRASTRUCTURE BRANCH of CTR FOR AVIATION TECHNL TRNG.

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) if applying for the 0801/0810/0830 series. Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • 1) Manages large scale projects, timely project execution, design, and acts as a construction contract liaison providing site coordination, quality assurance, project closeout/acceptance, and oversight of team assignments;
  • 2) Prepares detailed scopes of work, cost estimates, contract packages, and schedules for facility modifications, equipment installations, and customer initiatives;
  • 3) Develops and implements policies and methods to employ business planning analysis, achieve mandatory project validation standards, and evaluate economic alternatives to determine best economic solutions;
  • 4) Assists subordinate command staff in identifying and supporting data used to analyze current requirements; and
  • 5) Utilizes knowledge of multiple engineering or scientific disciplines to investigate, recommend and develop new processes to improve efficiency, facilities, training and performance.
