Job summary

US Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command seeks qualified professionals for anticipated vacancies. The selected candidate will lead engineering/architectural efforts in a quality assurance environment for construction projects and support Federal contract administration with expert advisory services.

Applicants must meet the selective placement factor (PE or RA) and show at least one year of specialized experience at GS-12 or equivalent, across Federal or private/public sectors.

Qualifications

  • Selective placement factor: Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) for 0801 series or Registered Architect (RA) for 0808 series, license in DC/Guam/PR or any US state.
  • At least 1 year of specialized experience at GS-12 or equivalent in Federal service or private/public sector.
  • Experience leading engineer/architect roles in quality assurance for construction projects and advising on contract administration.

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced engineering/architectural methods in QA for construction projects.
  • Lead full range of construction projects with various contracts and delivery methods.
  • Provide expert construction engineering/management advisory services to the Command.

Job description

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies.

There may or may not be actual vacancies filled from this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer.

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE), if applying for the Professional Engineering (0801) series, OR as a Registered Architect (RA), if applying for Professional Architect series (0808). Your registration must be in the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or any State in the U.S. NOTE: You must include a copy of your license with your application, or you will be rated ineligible.

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

  • 1) Applying principles, concepts, and theories of advanced engineering/architectural methods and techniques to serve as lead engineer/architect in a quality assurance environment for construction projects;
  • 2) Serving as lead engineer/architect in the full range of construction projects that involve various types of construction contracts, project delivery methods, and regulations governing Federal contract administration;
  • 3) Providing expert construction engineering and management advisory services to activities and tenants served by a Command.
