  • Interprets, recommends, and ensures compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Assists in planning for changes in facilities to meet new environmental requirements.
  • Identifies and contracts properly licensed hazardous waste disposal firms and monitors waste handling.
  • Organizes and equips spill-control teams.
  • Assists with environmental impact statements and applies for permits and renewals.

ASRC Federal Gulf States Constructors, is seeking an Interdisciplinary Environmental Supervisor to support activities under the Sheppard Air Force Base contract in Wichita Falls, Texas. Overview: Leads and oversees environmental initiatives within the organization, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting sustainability. With a team of environmental professionals, this role develops and implements policies, coordinates compliance efforts, and integrates environmental considerations into operational processes. Collaborating cross-functionally, the supervisor conducts impact assessments for projects, identifies risks, and recommends corrective actions. The supervisor also plays a crucial role in fostering external relationships with regulatory bodies and stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses a degree in Environmental Science or related field, significant environmental management experience, and proficiency in regulations, permitting, and reporting. Effective leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex concepts concisely are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Finds, evaluates, and prepares contracts for properly licensed hazardous waste disposal firms and monitors waste handling.
  • Organizes and equips spill-control teams.
  • Assists with environmental impact statements and applies for all new permits and renewals.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical science (e.g., Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental science); degree from a university accredited in the degree issued (e.g. ABET for Engineering and Technology)
  • Minimum five (5) years full-time practical, documented experience as Environmental Branch Manager (or similar supervisory title)
  • Minimum five (5) years in the Environmental field to include working with federal regulations and documents (i.e., multi-disciplinary RCRA, CWA, CAA, experience)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong working knowledge of EPA, state, local regulations, and contractual requirements (to include environmental compliance, pollution prevention, conservation, and community relations).
  • Working knowledge of Air Force environmental programs is highly desired.
  • Possesses excellent oral, written, communication skills.
  • Ability to give attention to detail and execute multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
