What You Can Expect

At ENGIE, we are accelerating the energy transition by developing utility-scale renewable energy projects that reshape how power reaches communities. We need driven professionals who thrive on execution and want their work to have lasting impact.

As our Interconnection Specialist Advisor, you will own and drive the interconnection lifecycle for a portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects within ERCOT, from early-stage development through key study milestones and toward successful advancement.

In this role, you sit at the center of execution — managing timelines, navigating utility and ISO requirements, and ensuring projects move forward despite constraints. You will work directly with ERCOT, utilities, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues, challenge delays when needed, and keep projects progressing in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

This role is not confined to analysis — it is about execution, influence, and accountability for outcomes.

What You Will Deliver

  • End-to-End Interconnection Ownership: Manage ERCOT interconnection projects through all study phases, ensuring milestones, submissions, deposits, and deadlines are met
  • Schedule & Risk Management: Track and protect critical-path timelines; identify risks early and actively drive mitigation strategies
  • ERCOT & Utility Interface: Serve as the primary point of contact with ERCOT and utilities, clarifying requirements and resolving issues that impact project progression
  • Study Interpretation & Action: Translate ERCOT study results into actionable insights, guiding project decisions and next steps
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Partner across development, engineering, and commercial teams to align execution and maintain project momentum
  • Execution Under Pressure: Manage multiple active projects with high visibility, ensuring no loss of position due to missed deadlines or slow response
  • Issue Resolution & Escalation: Challenge assumptions, push back when needed, and escalate effectively to keep projects moving forward

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 10 years of experience of interconnection, including direct ERCOT experience
  • Proven experience managing interconnection processes end-to-end, including timelines, submissions, and study phases
  • Strong understanding of ERCOT interconnection processes, milestones, and deadlines
  • Ability to interpret interconnection study results and translate them into business actions
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge utility or ISO assumptions professionally and drive outcomes
  • Strong execution mindset with the ability of working in high-complexity, multi-project environments with strong timeline accountability
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-directed execution style with the ability to solve problems independently and escalate when needed

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid in-office work policy and is not eligible for remote work
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 30% of the time in state and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record; for the ability to drive to meetings, trainings, and conferences
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
