Job summary

ENGIE North America Inc. is seeking an IT Technical Services Advisor in Houston, TX, to shape the vision and design for systems that support functional teams. You will lead future-state solutions and hands-on development, migration, and integration across business processes and third-party software.

You will connect with stakeholders to align with ENGIE Resources and ENGIE Group strategy while guiding architecture, data design, and delivery methods in a hybrid office environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or MBA in Computer Science, MIS, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience in energy/tech domains.
  • Minimum seven years of experience in technical architecture and systems implementation.
  • Minimum three years of experience with Microsoft Azure, including cloud architecture and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Agile, DevOps, and Lean business process engineering.
  • Strong data architecture background: ETL, data lakes, data warehouses.
  • Experience integrating enterprise SaaS, Okta, and event-driven architectures.
  • Active involvement in technology community and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.

Job description

In this role as the IT Technical Services Advisor, you will be responsible for collaboratively defining a vision for the systems and processes that support each functional team, leading the design of the future-state solution, and hands on supporting the development, migration and integration of those solutions into our business. Solutions in this context may consist of business process redesign, third‑party software implementation, and custom software development.

This position is in Houston, TX and reports to Enterprise Architect Supply Cust Exp-IT Product.

  • Maintain understanding of our business goals and strategy for ENGIE Resources, ENGIE North America, and ENGIE Group by connecting with business and IT stakeholders on a regular basis to communicate ideas and understand their needs
  • Act as a thought leader on the innovative use of technology as it applies to the needs of our business
  • Identify opportunities to unlock value implementing new solutions or rethinking those we already have
  • Stay connected to developments and trends in the retail energy industry and in the technology world and disseminate knowledge to other team members through formal and informal methods
  • Lead the development of product roadmaps by partnering with team members in each functional area and creating a vision for the future of their team's systems and processes
  • Devise complete solutions for a business need, including structural, business process, security and technology changes
  • Create and present comparative analysis of solution options, outline the pros and cons of each, and make recommendations on the optimal path forward
  • Assist in prioritizing investments and efforts across the portfolio of product backlogs
  • Support project teams on as-needed basis to provide technical Quality Assurance and guidance on design concepts, and debugging.
  • Coach project teams on solution design, patterns and practices, and delivery methods (Agile, DevOps, TDD, etc.)
  • Analyze and redesign business processes to achieve their optimal state
What You'll Bring
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree or MBA in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, we will consider a combination of relevant hands‑on experience in the retail energy industry and technology, including experience with energy markets (e.g., ERCOT, PJM), data analysis, systems integration, software development or support, and working with energy trading, billing, or customer information systems
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience with technical architecture and systems implementation
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience with Microsoft Azure, including cloud architecture, networking/security fundamentals, and CI/CD pipeline deployment.
  • Experience with Agile, DevOps practices, and business process engineering (Lean)
  • Strong background in data architecture, including ETL pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses
  • Experience integrating enterprise SaaS solutions, working with authorization tools (e.g., Okta), and implementing event‑driven architectures and design patterns
  • You have active involvement in the technology community and stay current with emerging trends, tools, and best practices
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate a collaborative working style with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders
  • You have experience working in a consulting environment and/or translating business requirements into clear, actionable technical requirements
  • You have strong leadership capabilities and a genuine passion for technology and continuous improvement
  • You are able to quickly adapt to new tasks and accommodate changing priorities in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
  • You are knowledgeable and recognized as a subject‑matter expert, respected by peers, clients, and within the broader industry
  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy with a minimum of three (3) days working in office if you are based in Houston, TX
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation

Salary Range: $117,300 - $179,860 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
