Job summary

Leidos in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Junior Interceptor Test Engineer to support hardware and software test activities for defense systems within the Leidos Defense Systems Sector. You will contribute to test planning, HWIL development, data analysis, and customer coordination.

The role requires a BS with 2–4 years of related experience or a Master’s with limited experience, plus hands-on testing skills with hardware/software and test equipment. Travel and some lifting may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires BS degree and 2–4 years of prior relevant experience or a Master’s with less than 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with defense or commercial test engineering practices and processes.
• Experience developing and executing hardware or software test plans and procedures.
• Hands-on experience with hardware, software, or system integration, troubleshooting and testing.

• Executing test plans for development, qualification, and acceptance phases of hardware projects.
• Creating and using HWIL test platforms to satisfy testing requirements.
• Completing verification, validation documentation and reports.
• Performing test data analysis with data log parsers and Wireshark.
• Debugging software and/or hardware with various tools.
• Collaborating with customers and support personnel.
• May require outdoor work in all weather and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Minimal travel for test events (about 4 weeks per year).

Leidos' Defense Systems, Systems Integration and Test Team is seeking a Junior Interceptor Test Engineer. We are a diverse team that works to implement unique solutions for complex problems in the defense sector, including but not limited to kinetic and directed energy defensive and offensive platforms as well as radar and other surveillance and sensor technologies. Our team works across multiple business sectors, with industry partners, and directly with the customer. Primary Responsibilities

• Executing test plans for development, qualification, and acceptance phases of hardware projects.
• Creating, modifying, and using Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) test platforms to satisfy testing requirements.
• Completing requirements verification and validation documentation and reports.
• Performing test data analysis via data log parser, Wireshark, and/or software debug tools.
• Debugging software and/or hardware with various tools.
• Working directly with the customer and other support personnel on the aforementioned responsibilities.
• The position may require working outside in all weather conditions and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• The position may require minimal travel for test events (approximately 4 weeks a year).

Basic Qualifications

• Requires BS degree and 2 - 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience; additional education, experience or training will be considered in lieu of degree.
• Candidates must have knowledge of and experience with defense or commercial test engineering practices and processes.
• Candidates must have experience developing and executing hardware or software test plans and procedures.
• Candidates must have direct, hands-on experience with hardware, software, or system integration, troubleshooting and testing.
• Active DoD Secret clearance. (U.S. Citizenship is required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ESS, HALT, HASS, Mil Std 461, Mil Std 464, Mil Std 810, and/or CE compliance testing.
• Working knowledge and operation of electronic test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, voltmeter, signal analyzer/generator).
• Working knowledge of software languages Python, C, C++, C# and or firmware languages for Xilinx or Altera devices.
• Experience with Linux, Matlab, Labview, and WireShark.
• Experience preparing and presenting briefings and/or demonstrations to customers and management.
• Planning and executing demonstration tests and US Gov't test ranges/facilities.

Pay Range: $69,550.00 - $125,725.00
