Job summary

Union Station Kansas City is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain exhibits, galleries, and building systems across all properties. You will work on carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and show-control tasks to ensure safe, engaging guest experiences.

This role supports immersive environments, holiday setups, and events, requiring practical problem-solving, teamwork, and attention to detail in a dynamic hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints, schematics, and drawings for layout and materials.
• Hands-on exhibit fabrication, carpentry, and maintenance experiences.
• Experience with audiovisuals, interactive tech, or live event support.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to plan projects.
• Construct wall panels, cabinets, and exhibit components.
• Operate CNC equipment to fabricate components from digital drawings.
• Support exhibit setup, lighting, display prep, and object placement with staff.
• Maintain galleries and equipment to ensure safety and operation.
• Coordinate with contractors and trades on projects and repairs.
