Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking an Optical Network Engineer to develop hardware and systems for high-speed optical communications for inter-satellite links. You will prototype, test, and qualify optical components, working with vendors and internal teams to ensure low-cost and reliable systems meeting performance goals.

You will lead design verification, automate tests, and analyze large data sets to identify risks and optimize the architecture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/ higher in physics, electronics, or related field.
• Experience with high-speed test equipment and measurement techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to document and communicate clearly to cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototyping, and characterization of hardware for high-speed optical links.
• Qualify commercial components and drive custom development to meet performance targets.
• Lead design verification and qualification testing.
• Automate optical test plans and qualify optical modules.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to troubleshoot and deliver inter-satellite links.
• Analyze large data sets to identify gaps/risks and improve designs.
