Job summary

Qualifications

• Require high school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
• Illinois Paraprofessional License (or evidence of application).
• Willingness to engage in personal care, feeding, toileting, and medical tasks.
• Ability to complete CPI training and engage in physical management when necessary.
• Ability to obtain CPR certification and administer CPR when required.
• Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand each student's unique needs within BEST and STRIVE programs, ensuring accommodations are implemented with fidelity.
• Assist in structured teaching and functional communication, reinforcing skills as directed by staff.
• Collect behavioral data in line with Behavior Intervention Plans and program leadership guidance.
• Reinforce positive behavior and assist in self-regulation techniques.
• Supervise and assist students during transitions between activities and locations.
• Assist with life skills training and structured teaching in an adaptive curriculum.
