Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required
• Current BLS certification within 7 days of hire
• Strong communication and composure under stress
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn hospital systems
• Adherence to HIPAA/EMTALA and privacy policies
• Ability to perform phlebotomy, ECGs, glucose testing and vital signs

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens as directed
• Transport patients safely within the facility
• Provide direct para-professional nursing care in units and ED
• Assess patients and document vital signs and relevant data
• Obtain 12-lead EKGs and interpret basic readings
• Support resuscitation efforts and CPR within scope
• Document procedures and maintain certifications as required
• Assist orientation of new staff and volunteers
