Job summary

Salem Public Schools is seeking an Intensive Instructional Paraprofessional for Witchcraft Heights Elementary School in Salem, MA. The role focuses on students with disabilities in a substantially separate program, requiring collaboration with clinicians and teachers, and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities include personal care, behavioral interventions, data collection, ABA techniques, and facilitating instruction and social interactions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 48 credit hours or an Associate’s Degree or equivalent.
• Safety‑Care training or willingness to be trained.
• Minimum of one year experience with elementary‑aged children.
• Written and oral English proficiency; bilinguals encouraged.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• ParaPro or WorkKeys assessments acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Understand each student’s profile and IEP; engage in related PD.
• Collaborate with special education teachers and service providers.
• Reinforce and redeliver lessons to students.
• Assist with supervision; implement behavior modification and data collection.
• Support accommodations and ABA strategies for instruction.
• Assist with self‑care routines and social interactions.
• Escort and assist students throughout the building and on activities.
• Follow supervisor directions and participate in PD.
