Baptist Health System KY ICU is seeking a PRN night-shift nurse for a 12-hour shift once weekly (7P-7A) to join our 20-bed critical care unit focused on neurologic care.

Ideal candidates hold an active Kentucky RN license, BCLS, and ACLS within the required timelines. This role emphasizes strong critical thinking, bedside assessment, and a collaborative approach to patient care in a demanding ICU environment.

Qualifications

• Active Kentucky RN license is required.
• BCLS certification required within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS will be required within six months for experienced staff nurses and within one year for new graduates.

Responsibilities

• Assess and identify patient needs in the ICU and implement appropriate interventions.
• Establish and maintain a plan for the delivery of nursing care and direct nursing interventions to resolve problems.
• Demonstrate strong critical thinking and serve as a resource for patients and families through the critical care journey.

Staff working in ICU will encounter a variety of nursing needs from stroke, post-op neurosurgery, ventricular drains, abdominal pressure monitoring, CRRT to hypothermia.Job Duties:The ICU nurse assesses and identifies patient needs and implements appropriate interventions for the patient. The ICU Nurse establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently. ICU nurses must have strong critical thinking skills.
