Job summary

Baptist Health Louisville is seeking a PRN ICU Nurse for 12-hour day shifts on a 6-week coverage rotation in a 20-bed intensive care unit specializing in neurologic care. You will assess patients, implement interventions, and coordinate with the team to deliver critical care.

Applicants must hold an active Kentucky nursing license, BCLS within 90 days, and ACLS within six months for experienced nurses or within a year for new graduates.

• ACLS within six months for experienced staff nurses and within one year for new graduate nurses.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and implement appropriate interventions.
• Establish and maintain a plan for the delivery of nursing care and direct related activities.
• Provide high-level critical care support for neurologic conditions and postoperative neurosurgical patients.
• Act as a resource for patient families and support them through the critical care journey.

Summary3- 12 hour shift coverage every 6 weeksJob Description:PRN, DaysAbout the Unit:The Intensive Care unit (ICU) is a 20 bed critical care unit specializing in neurologic care. Staff working in ICU will encounter a variety of nursing needs from stroke, post-op neurosurgery, ventricular drains, abdominal pressure monitoring, CRRT to hypothermia.Job Duties:The ICU nurse assesses and identifies patient needs and implements appropriate interventions for the patient. The ICU Nurse establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently. ICU nurses must have strong critical thinking skills. The critical care nurse acts as a family and patient resource to guide them through all stages of the patient’s critical care journey.Minimum Education, Training, and Experience1.
