Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an experienced ICU nurse for its neurologic care unit. This full-time role offers three 12-hour daytime shifts per week (36 hours total), with every third weekend and occasional support shifts.

The 20-bed ICU handles stroke, post‑op neurosurgery, ventricular drains and other critical care needs. A sign-on bonus is available for experienced staff; active Kentucky RN license and BCLS within 90 days, ACLS within six months.

About the Unit

The Intensive Care unit (ICU) is a 20 bed critical care unit specializing in neurologic care. Staff working in ICU will encounter a variety of nursing needs from stroke, post‑op neurosurgery, ventricular drains, abdominal pressure monitoring, CRRT to hypothermia.

Job Duties

The ICU nurse assesses and identifies patient needs and implements appropriate interventions for the patient. The ICU Nurse establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently. ICU nurses must have strong critical thinking skills. The critical care nurse acts as a family and patient resource to guide them through all stages of the patient’s critical care journey.

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience

Active Kentucky License BCLS Required within 90 days of employment. ACLS will be required within six months for experienced staff nurses and within one year for new graduate nurses.
