Job summary

Damar Services, LLC is seeking an Intensive Behavioral Intervention Associate in Indianapolis, IN. The role focuses on providing direct behavior management consultation to clients, staff, and families, including observation, plan development, and documentation.

You will train staff on behavior management approaches, implement and monitor programs, and maintain timely documentation while collaborating with parents and other professionals in a mission-driven, non-profit setting.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in applied behavioral analysis, social work, psychology, counseling, or related human services field.
  • Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements.
  • Valid Indiana driver's license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements.
  • Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect, or other disqualifying criminal convictions.
  • Pre-employment drug screen and physical required.
  • Favorably meet and maintain Damar's background screening.

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive functional assessment of behavior for each client served.
  • Maintains prescribed level of productivity.
  • Provides training for staff regarding behavior management plans/approaches.
  • Implements, coordinates, monitors, documents, evaluates, and revises behavior programs as approved by the Manager or Director.
  • Interacts professionally with parents, teachers, staff, and other providers.
  • Keeps abreast of current treatment technology, literature, practices, and regulations.
  • Provides written documentation of behavior management service via monthly reports.
  • Submits documentation (behavior plans, monthly notes, etc.) in a timely fashion.

These services include client observation, the development and documentation of specific behavior management plans, direct intervention with clients, education and training for staff, and service coordination, among others.

What you need to be considered:
  • Master's degree in applied behavioral analysis; social work; psychology; counseling; or a related human services area of study
  • Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements
  • Valid Indiana driver's license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar's insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
  • Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical
  • Favorably meet and maintain Damar's background screening
Essential Job Functions

The essential functions of this position require the physical ability and mobility needed to perform the job. This includes the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods; occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.; operate office equipment, including a computer keyboard; travel to other locations using private or commercial transportation; and communicate effectively to exchange information.

The position also requires the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to client behaviors, staff instructions, safety concerns, and emergencies in an environment where individuals may display aggressive, self-injurious, sexually maladaptive, elopement, or other unpredictable behaviors.

Regular and acceptable attendance, excluding approved absences and periods of leave, is also an essential function of the position.
