Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking an Intelligence Officer to support investigations and intelligence operations focused on gangs and security threat groups within our facilities. You will assist in providing actionable intelligence to the contracting agency and facility management.

Responsibilities include collecting and tracking threat group activities, monitoring detainee communications, and helping develop procedures for security and custody. Strong analytical and reporting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years experience in security within a correctional setting.
• Certification as a correctional officer may be required by state/federal rules.
• College coursework and advanced training in behavioral sciences, correctional services, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting intelligence and information on suspected security threat groups at the facility.
• Provide input into the facility response to security threats posed by groups.
• Identify and track activities of gangs or security threat groups at the facility.
• Record and furnish information to contracting agency as required.
• Monitor detainee telephone calls in line with policies.
• Assist in developing policies for custody, security and treatment of detainees.
• Participate in gang identification and tracking programs.
• Respond to major institution incidents as trained.
• Prepare records and reports as required.
