Job summary

County of San Mateo is seeking an Intelligence Analyst to monitor threats, analyze criminal intelligence, and prepare timely, actionable reports for public and private sector partners. The role involves GIS mapping, data management, and collaboration with law enforcement and other agencies.

Applicants should have a relevant bachelor’s degree and experience in intelligence analysis, data handling, and privacy protections.

Qualifications

Requires education in statistics, information management, criminal justice or related field.
Proven ability to collect, evaluate and translate criminal intelligence data.
Experience with information-sharing initiatives for law enforcement is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintaining awareness of threats and vulnerabilities with potential impact to local law enforcement and critical infrastructure partners.
Developing written products and presentations analyzing current and emerging threats to communicate timely, actionable, and relevant intelligence to public and private sector partners.
Providing case support to mitigate crimes and hazards in the NC HIDTA/NCRIC area of responsibility and thoroughly documenting tactics, techniques, and procedures involved.
Producing threat assessments, vulnerability assessments, strategic reports and tactical and operational analytical products.
Conducting link chart analysis, call record analysis, geospatial analysis, and data entry.
