Merck is seeking an Intelligence Analyst to join the Intelligence Operations Center within the Resiliency Center. The role focuses on applying analytical tradecraft to identify, assess, and forecast security risks affecting people, assets, and operations globally.

The analyst will rotate across portfolios—geopolitical developments, protective intelligence, insider risk—and produce actionable insights for security leadership and enterprise stakeholders, enabling safe, uninterrupted business

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2+ years in intelligence analysis, geopolitical risk assessment, or threat monitoring.
  • Experience producing analytical reports and briefings for stakeholders.
  • Experience conducting OSINT investigations and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze global geopolitical events, emerging security threats, and portfolios to assess impact on the Company.
  • Adapt to rotating intelligence accounts and develop deep subject matter expertise across threat vectors.
  • Draft intelligence products—tactical alerts, strategic assessments, threat horizon forecasts—for security leadership and stakeholders.
  • Leverage OSINT, threat platforms, and internal data to identify indicators of physical, operational, geopolitical, or reputational risk.
  • Provide analytical support to the 24/7 watch desk and incident management during crises.
  • Partner with legal, HR, cybersecurity, and regional security teams to support safe business operations.

Job Description

As a core member of the Intelligence Operations Center (IOC) within the broader Resiliency Center, the Intelligence Analyst applies analytical tradecraft to identify, assess, and forecast security risks that could impact our Company’s people, assets, and operations.

While intelligence analysis is the foundational function of this role, the successful candidate will be assigned to diverse, rotating portfolios based on dynamic business needs. These portfolios encompass analyzing complex geopolitical developments (such as political instability and regional conflicts), protective intelligence, insider risk, and a wide-range of issues impacting the safety of our employees, facilities, and other assets.

By transforming raw data from various threat streams into clear, actionable insights, this agile analyst empowers business leaders to make informed decisions and ensure our Company operates safely across the globe.

Primary Activities & Responsibilities:
  • Continuously monitor and analyze global geopolitical events, emerging security threats, and other assigned topical or regional portfolios (e.g., counterintelligence, insider risk) to assess their potential impact on our Company.
  • Flexibly adapt to and manage rotating intelligence accounts, developing deep subject matter expertise across various threat vectors to support evolving operational needs.
  • Draft and present intelligence products—including tactical flash alerts, deep-dive strategic assessments, and threat horizon forecasts—tailored for security leadership and enterprise stakeholders.
  • Leverage Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), specialized threat platforms, and internal data sets to identify early indicators of physical security, operational, geopolitical, or reputational risk.
  • Provide dedicated analytical support to the Resiliency Center’s 24/7 watch desk and incident management teams during emerging global crises or targeted threat escalations.
  • Partner cross-functionally with legal, human resources, cybersecurity, and regional security teams to deliver tailored intelligence support that enables safe, uninterrupted business operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as required based on the evolving needs of our Company.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in intelligence analysis, geopolitical risk assessment, or threat monitoring within a corporate, government, military, or specialized consulting environment.
  • Experience producing analytical reports and briefings for stakeholders.
  • Experience conducting OSINT investigations and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working within a global enterprise environment.
  • Specific experience in one or more intelligence disciplines (e.g., geopolitical risk, insider risk, counterintelligence, protective intelligence).
  • Foreign language proficiency.

  • Foundational mastery of intelligence tradecraft, structured analytical techniques, and objective reporting standards.
  • Adaptability and intellectual curiosity, with the ability to rapidly learn and pivot across distinct subject matter portfolios.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative team player with a strong focus on proactively enabling business continuity.
Physical & Operational Requirements:
  • Able to travel globally as required.
