Job summary

Peraton is seeking an Intel Analyst to support a national defense program focused on space warfighting missions. The role involves providing actionable data through intelligence reports that inform decision-makers of counterspace threats and vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in intelligence analysis and operational understanding of space systems.

You will collaborate across divisions, lead training development efforts, and shape confident intel assessments to protect mission-critical assets. An active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

  • 8 years experience with a BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA; 3 years with PhD; 12+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in an intelligence community or military intel career field.
  • Advanced knowledge of foreign/domestic space & ground system threat capabilities.
  • Active TS/SCI with adjudicated Poly.

Job description

Overview

As an Intel Analyst supporting a national defense program space warfighting mission, you will be responsible for providing actionable data through briefed intelligence reports that inform decision-makers and the broader Intelligence Community of counterspace threats and assessed vulnerabilities to space and ground assets conducting 24/7 mission protection operations. This position is best filled by an expert on terrestrial and on-orbit counterspace threats, capable of guiding research and shaping assessments with team members in a space operations-focused Intelligence Division. You will work closely with flight safety and mission protection staff and support Indication & Warning (I&W) system integration efforts that progress database accuracy and efficiencies in mission execution. The successful candidate will continuously endeavor to close organizational knowledge gaps in an ever-changing space domain environment via collaboration, expert collection analysis, and balanced resource tasking.

Responsibilities
  • Apply advanced Intel analysis skills to lead team tasks and disseminate actionable space intel to decision-makers across six geographically separated space operations centers
  • Research and employ an operational mindset when developing intel assessments and build solutions toward improved organizational space domain awareness
  • Lead training development efforts and advise strategic and exercise planning events
  • Collaborate across divisions (flight safety, plans, mission protection, strategy and plans, engineering, etc.) and respond to object and assessment inquiries
  • Maintain data resources and system expertise to execute real world event procedures
  • Shape confident intel assessments and warn of threats to mission-critical space and ground assets; develop new tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) for operations
  • Lead and/or attend meetings as required; provide space intelligence knowledge as a resource to senior military and civilian government customers

Note: This position is contingent upon award of contract.

Qualifications
  • 8 years with BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA; 3 years with PhD; 12+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience working in an intelligence community and/or military intel career field
  • Experience working Defensive Space Control, Intelligence Analysis roles
  • Advanced knowledge of foreign/domestic space & ground system threat capabilities
  • Active TS/SCI with adjudicated Poly
Preferred
  • Expert-level knowledge of foreign/domestic space & ground system threat capabilities
  • 2+ years of prior National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) experience
  • Intermediate or advanced understanding of orbital mechanics and mission applications
  • Previous participation in joint, interagency-level exercise planning and execution
  • Willingness to perform shift work and certify in 24/7 Intel Duty Officer ops position
